Salvation is the grace and mercy of God but its not just a "wand of leniency" that the Lord waves over you to make it happen. All throughout the bible salvation could come only after a substitue has met the demands against the sinner. Even though Jesus didn't show up until the New Testament, the Old Testament's laws were in place to do so and foreshadow what Christ would ultimately do.
We are going old Testament today:
- Lev 4:20-21
- Lev 4:26
- Lev 19:22
- Lev 1:4-5
- Exodus 12
Thats all for today
My timeline part 3 (these are my notes from the last topic, "How does man fit in the bible?" Here is part 1 and part 2.
- God uses Moses to deliver his people out of oppression.
- God uses mankind (Isreal lead by Joshua) to help establish His Kingdom through Isreal. It was God that judged and conquered the evil nations, but he used Godly men to accomplish His work
- God had began a plan of salvation because man chose sin, He promised his people that they would be great it number, he delivered them out of slavery, and made them a mighty and prosperous kingdom...yet they still sinned and unfaithful. God had to raise up judges to get His people out of their sinful ways and oppression.
